Online Therapy Services in Illinois
Virtual therapy for children, teens, adults, parents, caregivers, and families throughout Chicago and Illinois.
My work has a particular focus on disability, autism, ADHD, caregiving, and the relationships and systems surrounding those experiences. I also provide therapy for anxiety, children and teens, couples, and families.
You don’t need to know which category fits before contacting me. The consultation is a chance to tell me what’s going on and see whether working together makes sense.
Therapy That Makes Room for Real Life
There are plenty of reasons people come to therapy.
Maybe anxiety has gotten louder. Your child is struggling and you're not sure what they need. Your family keeps getting caught in the same patterns. Or disability, caregiving, medical appointments, school systems, accommodations, advocacy, and other people's expectations are woven into everyday life.
Those things don't exist separately from your mental health or your relationships.
At Strong Mind Studio, online therapy is practical, relational, and built around the life you're actually living- not an idealized version of what therapy, parenting, family, or independence is supposed to look like.
Disability-Affirming Therapy in Illinois
Disability can be part of your life without being the thing that needs to be fixed.
Therapy at Strong Mind Studio makes room for the parts people often don't see: appointments, access barriers, accommodations, dependence and independence, identity, relationships, grief, advocacy, changing abilities, medical systems, school systems, and the sheer amount of planning that can happen behind an ordinary day.
You don't have to spend half the session explaining why those things matter.
Disability-affirming therapy can include support around:
Disability identity and self-advocacy
Chronic illness or changing abilities
Independence, dependence, and interdependence
Relationships and family dynamics
Medical or educational systems
Accessibility and accommodations
Grief, frustration, anger, or uncertainty
Caregiver relationships and changing roles
Your disability won't automatically be treated as the explanation for everything you're feeling- and it won't be ignored when it genuinely is part of what's going on.
We start with you, not an assumption about what your life should look like.
Child & Adolescent Therapy in Illinois
Sometimes you know your child is having a hard time before you know exactly why.
Maybe emotions have gotten bigger. They're shutting down, worrying more, struggling at school, becoming easily overwhelmed, or reacting in ways that leave everyone wondering what just happened.
And as a parent, you may be trying everything you know while quietly wondering whether you're missing something.
Online therapy for children and teens can support concerns including:
Anxiety and excessive worry
Emotional regulation
Behavioral changes
School-related stress
Social or relationship difficulties
Life transitions
Disability and chronic health experiences
Family stress
The goal isn't to turn your child into an easier version of themselves.
It's to understand what they're communicating, help them build tools that actually work for them, and give you a clearer picture of how to support them outside the therapy room.
Anxiety Therapy in Illinois
Anxiety doesn't always look like panic attacks.
Sometimes it's replaying a conversation long after it ended. Thinking through every possible outcome before making a decision. Feeling irritable, tense, overstimulated, or constantly responsible for keeping everything from going wrong.
You might look completely capable while your brain is running fifteen steps ahead all day.
Online anxiety therapy can help with:
Overthinking and second-guessing
Persistent worry
Feeling on edge or overwhelmed
Perfectionism and pressure
Irritability and emotional reactivity
Avoidance and fear
Difficulty shutting your brain off
Therapy isn't about convincing you that nothing bad will ever happen. It's about helping anxiety take up less space so you can make decisions, handle uncertainty, and move through your life without every thought requiring an emergency meeting.
Parent & Caregiver Support in Illinois
You can love someone deeply and still be tired.
Parents and caregivers are often doing far more than people around them realize- scheduling, researching, advocating, coordinating care, talking with schools or providers, anticipating needs, making decisions, managing everyone else's emotions, and wondering whether they're doing any of it right.
Sometimes you need somewhere that isn't another appointment about the person you care for.
Parent and caregiver therapy can help with:
Caregiver stress and burnout
Parenting a child who is struggling
Disability-related caregiving
Advocacy and decision-making
Boundaries and changing family roles
Guilt, worry, anger, and overwhelm
School and healthcare systems
Making room for your own needs
We can talk about your child or loved one.
But we can also talk about you- because you get to be a whole person in the room, too.
Family Therapy in Illinois
Sometimes everybody loves each other and everybody is also exhausted.
The same arguments happen. One person's stress becomes everyone's stress. Communication gets tangled. Roles shift. A change in one part of the family affects the whole thing.
Family therapy gives you somewhere to look at the pattern instead of deciding which person is the problem.
Online family therapy may help with:
Communication and recurring conflict
Parent-child relationships
Major family transitions
Stress related to disability or health needs
Changing family roles
Emotional disconnection
Caregiving dynamics
Foster and kinship family experiences
We'll pay attention to how your family actually works- including its relationships, responsibilities, stressors, strengths, and the systems surrounding it- and work toward ways of relating that feel more workable for everyone.
