About Strong Mind Studio
This work is rooted in real life-
not just labels or diagnoses, but what things actually feel like day to day.
Whether it’s anxiety, your child’s behavior, or complicated family dynamics, we focus on helping things feel a little less overwhelming and a little more doable.
Hi, I’m Amy
I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker working with children, teens, adults, and families across Illinois.
A lot of people come in feeling overwhelmed, or unsure, or just tired of holding everything together on their own.
We just start with whatever’s going on.
My approach is warm, steady, and grounded in meeting you exactly where you are, without any pressure.
I work with children, teens, adults, and families who are trying to make sense of things that feel heavy, confusing, or harder than they expected.
That might look like:
feeling constantly overwhelmed or on edge
reacting in ways you don’t love and not knowing how to shift it
trying to support a child who’s struggling
navigating family dynamics that feel complicated or stuck
I also work closely with families navigating foster care, kinship care, and nontraditional family structures, where there’s often a lot happening behind the scenes that others don’t always see.
If that’s part of your world, you don’t have to explain everything from the beginning here.
My Approach to Therapy
The way I practice therapy is grounded in both training and real-life.
I draw from approaches like cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), play therapy, and relational work- but more than anything, I focus on what actually feels helpful for you.
Together, we’re figuring out how to make your day-to-day life feel a little more manageable, a little more clear, and a little more like you.
A Space That Feels Real and Supportive
All sessions are offered virtually across Chicago and Illinois, with flexible scheduling to fit into your life.
I am currently in the process of becoming in-network with major insurance providers. In the meantime, sliding scale options are available starting at $50 per session, along with self-pay options.
The goal is for this to feel accessible, realistic, and supportive- not like one more thing that adds stress.
